Australia is Luhrmann’s first film since his renowned ‘Red Curtain Trilogy’, whose overtly theatrical and flamboyant plot and visuals brought Luhrmann the respect he deserves. Set in northern Australia preceding World War II, with Luhrmann sticking close to his roots by hiring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, Australia looks set to be a homage to a home country by a seemingly patriotic director. However, with Nicole Kidman playing an English aristocrat, it does leave you questioning why she would be chosen to the play the role over so many (non-box office poison) actors.

As well as the first poster artwork for your perusal, are a selection of shots from Annie Leibowitz’ on-set photography commissioned by Vogue magazine.
