Okay, this is old news by now (hey – we’ve been making a magazine. Sue us…) but we had to share it with you just in case anybody missed it.
World-renowned (possibly) ex-TV film reviewer and general legend of the British Isles, Barry Norman, is selling his own pickled onions. In Tesco.
Think about that. Think. About. That.
Yes!
Barry ‘Bazza’ Norman is a secret pickle magnate! Not only that, but you can visit his website which glories to the angelic strains of the name pickleodeon.co.uk. We are not making this up!
The pickles, we are promised, are ‘crisp, luscious, sweet and spicy… fit for the gods.’ They’re made from a recipe handed down from mother to daughter (and now son) since the mid-nineteenth century. Bazza himself didn’t consider selling them until some hucksterish mate turned him onto the idea, and now we can all enjoy them.
The final kicker? The jar has a neat clapper-board effect round the rim. Will wonders never cease?!

The pickle link doesn’t work.
I’m disappointed as I really like pickles.

When I saw the advert at a bus shelter in my neighbourhood, I though it was some sort of joke that was part of a bigger marketing campaign such as Norman releasing an upcoming book or something.
What will they think of next?
Actually, I don’t want to know.
