This year the London International Film Festival will be screening more than 200 short animated films from around the world. It’s already kicked off and runs until September 7th, taking place at a variety of
venues – Curzon Soho, Renoir,, Horse Hospital and Rio Cinema.
The film festival has a truly comprehensive line-up of current animated short films and features from newcomers and veterans alike. Last year Everything will be OK by Don Hertzfeldt won the Grand Jury
Prize. You can find some of Don’s work here:

There certainly has been an influx in short and animated films with the ease of uploading a video to YouTube. While this is more-or-less a good thing, the market does become a little flooded, with great pieces getting lost amongst the crowd. So the festival is a perfect way to see the best shorts out there right now, free of the clutter. And so you don’t miss anything, the good people at the LIAF have provided an online programme. The festival concludes with a Best of the Fest, so you can see all the winners.
