LWLIES AND END OF THE ROAD FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP, CINEMA TENT AND ‘END OF THE REEL’ COMPETITION
Award-winning End Of The Road festival and ground-breaking movie magazine Little White Lies are joining forces to create a cinema experience at the festival on 12th, 13th & 14th September, at the beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset.
EOTR has established itself as an intimate, friendly and chilled out festival attracting a knowledgeable 5,000 crowd seeking quality music, food and surroundings. By taking care of the little things, the synergy between EOTR and LWLies magazine is obvious and provides the opportunity to create a film experience with a similar approach to the music line-up.
END OF THE REEL COMPETITION
The challenge is to create a short ident, up to 15 seconds long, that will be screened at the back of the main stage, intermittently on the cinema tent screen and online at the various partner websites.
In the spirit of the festival and the magazine, entries need to be fresh, innovative and thought provoking. Entries will be posted on YouTube at www.youtube.com/endofthereel.
The winners will WIN two tickets to EOTR, one year’s subscription to LWLies as well as Rough Trade and Carhartt goodies. The rules are as follows:
1. The ident can be animated, filmed or graphically produced.
2. The content must relate to End Of The Road theme and ‘Truth and Movies’ (LWLies’ tagline).
3. Entries must be uploaded to any video sharing website, and the link emailed to: endofthereel@littlewhitelies.co.uk.
4. Deadline for entries is 29th August.
5. Winners will be announced 1st September.
Logos for both Little White Lies and End of the Road are available to download in a zip file.
CINEMA TENT
Little White Lies will bring an eclectic mix of films and content to the cinema tent experience. In partnership with Warp Films, Shortwave Films and other film companies, there will be a diverse range of films to suit all tastes young and old. The EOTR team will also be entering their favourites to the programme.
Warp Films will be screening Dead Man’s Shoes, amongst a selection of shorts, music videos plus added extra feature films from their catalogue past and present. Warp also run Warp Records as well as Warp X, a digital film studio backed by the Film Council/Film Four and Optimum Films in Sheffield.
Shortwave Films produce a variety of content and have been involved with events since 1999, including Glastonbury, Elefest, Portobello Film and Video festival and regular nights at 93FeetEast amongst others.
END OF THE ROAD FESTIVAL
As ever the End Of The Road line-up is a feast of the alternative, right down to the pies, cider and audience (containing, as it does, the odd curious parrot and peacock).
Visitors will take in some of the finest music, film and comedy on offer at any festival this year. Calexico, Bon Iver, Tindersticks, Mercury Rev, Dirty Three, Richard Hawley and Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band are among the highlights on the music stages, but the music is only part of it: comedy and cinema tents, a mysterious library, a piano in the woods and a Healing Retreat are among the curiosities out there for the finding.
