Film Knight 09: Gonzo – The Life and Work of Dr Hunter S Thompson
LWLies and Suso are proud to announce that Alex Gibney’s Gonzo will be our feature screening on Monday December 1.
With a clear commitment to imagination, creativity and determination, Film Knights celebrates the best in modern movie making from big name directors to hungry young guns. This month sees us once again getting exclusive use of the splendidly plush Rex Cinema (view a map) in the heart of Soho. Film Knights is all about providing the best experience possible, and that means crystal chandeliers, velvet sofas and the comfiest cinema seats in London.
Be there at 6.45pm prompt, then join us for a drink or two afterwards and stick around for the evening to let us know what you thought of the film.
The event is guest-listed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Gonzo
Fear and Loathing in London.

Alex Gibney, the award-winning documentary maker best known for his blistering Iraq War j’accuse, Taxi To The Darkside, and the caustic anti-capitalist doc Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, is our guide through the frenetic, splenetic and most of all narcotic dreamland that is the life and world of pioneering journalist Hunter S Thompson.
Narrated by Johnny Depp, and featuring contributions from those who knew Hunter best as well as archival footage of the man himself, Gonzo is both an intimate personal portrait, and a stirring anthem to an age when the pen could be every bit as mighty as the sword.
With thanks to Optimum.
