forgetting about android is like forgetting about dre

I know it would probably take quite a bit of work but I'd love to see a link to reviews from the cinema listings. Failing that, a search function in the reviews section would be nice!

We haven't forgotten about Android users, we know there's a lot out there. It's part of our plan for the next version.

Reviews with an arrow > next to them link through to reviews. You'll need to view the reviews section to download the feed if it's the first time you've ever used the app. Full searchable reviews and A-Z are on our list for v2.

I don't know if this is controllable by the developer, but a keyword search for 'LWL' doesn't turn up any relevant results for the app. This could be a barrier for (I'm guessing) a reasonable amount of prospective users familiar with the LWL brand acronym.

I have favourited all my favourite cinemas. Having listings for these all in one place is amazing. I would love to have an option to click on a day/date and see all of the films from my favourite cinemas that are showing on that day. Even an option to check what is showing 'today' would be great.

It's looking great guys, I've been waiting for this for a while so I'm glad it's finally here.
I'll give some rough feedback, but this is down to personal opinion so don't think I'm being over critical.
1. The home page with the Little White Lies logo would probably look nicer without the shadows or embossing, I love the sleek design of Little White Lies but the logo at the home page doesn't really fit with the design seen through the rest of the app.
2. I did have an idea about an interactive map, this would be nice to see in the future where the 'Indie Cinemas' page could be converted into a map, similar to the one used to locate cinemas for the Grolsh screenings.
3. Other than that, it's all I could have hoped for, well done guys. x

Literally had a load of other ideas just after I commented.
4. Subscriber log in to read your copy on the go from your iPhone.
5. Downloads page to get the iPhone backgrounds straight to the phone.
6. Calendar with film releases and special film events eg. Film Festivals or Secret Cinema.

“Reviews with an arrow > next to them link through to reviews. You’ll need to view the reviews section to download the feed if it’s the first time you’ve ever used the app.”
This wasn’t clear to me, and I don’t think this should be buried below a silent action. A first time visit to NOW SHOWING section before the user has visited the REVIEWS section should guide the flow with a one-off popup. Something like “To link through to reviews direct from cinema listings, you need to first download the reviews.
I’m not a copywriter :(

I appear to have italicised everything :(

Great feedback Josh, much appreciated!

We'll revise the way we point people to reviews in v2. We should also have a way for people to go from a review to see where it's showing near them.
We will also fix the issue that you need to view reviews first before viewing cinemas the first time you open the app to get the reviews linked through.
Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback.

Great suggestion for 'what is showing today' option. We'll see if this is possible for v2!

My pleasure. It's a lovely, simple app BTW.

Thanks for the feedback Nick. What's the name of the chain cinema?
Written by LWLies on August 15th, 2011 at 13:42
It's the Phoenix cinima falmouth, part of the Merlin chain…pretty small cornish chain http://falmouth.merlincinemas.co.uk/

Thanks for this Nick – we'll see if we can get their cinema listings added to our feed.

Definitely something extra for your LWL subscribers! x

Meant to add to the above that I think this would be a very useful addition.

Delighted to see that you have listed some Irish cinemas in your app. Two that I noticed to be missing include Dublin's main independent cinema the IFI (www.ifi.ie) & my local, Swan Cinema (www.swancinema.ie).

Hey @Euphiophone – this is an addition we're definitely adding to the next release.

Beautifully designed app, but I’ve recently found that the reviews section crashes every time it’s selected, on iOS 4.3.3 – anyone else seeing this problem?
Written by michael on September 24th, 2011 at 11:32
Yes – this has been happening for me constantly now, the app's totally unusable – something's gone very wrong :(
Written by @5against4 on September 25th, 2011 at 12:22
Hey,
We had some issues with the feed for the reviews causing the app to crash.
Please try turning off/on your phone and accessing the app again. This should fix the issue.
