Davy Mitchell is an aspiring writer travelling across Middle America to promote his unpublished book of short stories. But his trip takes an unexpected turn when he receives a phone call from an anonymous female in his motel room, leading to some intense dirty talk. Davy develops a passionate phone sex relationship with the mysterious stranger, though his unconventional infatuation soon turns into an obsession.

But Kyle Patrick Alvarez’s movie stands out as one the year’s as-yet-undiscovered gems. Davy, played by Brian Geraghty, is an intriguing character who manages to rouse sympathy from the audience thanks to the actor’s pained and poetic allure. This could well be the beginning of a beautiful friendship between director and star.
