I Do is the story of lifetime bachelor Luis (Alain Chabat) who, after being bullied into potential marriage by his five sisters and doting mother, hatches a plan to pay Emma (Charlotte Gainsbourg), the sister of his best friend, to be the perfect girlfriend that unceremoniously dumps him at the altar. So yes, it’s a romantic comedy, the mention of which usually alienates half of the population, generally the one in possession of a Y chromosome. However, the self deprecating wit and circumstance of I Do will strike a chord with more than just the Bridget Joneses of the world.
